Experience the excitement of traveling and living abroad while you earn credits in foreign languages and/or many other subjects. The requirements for study abroad are a minimum of 12 credits of study at Moraine Valley, a 2.75 minimum GPA, and COM-101 OR 102 with a B or above.

The following study abroad programs are available to Moraine Valley students:

Summer Only Programs

Summer programs range from $2,000-$5,000. Most of the programs do not include airfare.

  • Athens, Greece
    • This trip is a part of SSC-101 (Social Science I) course
    • This is the only study abroad opportunity open to both students and community members

Steps to Sign Up:

  1. Complete the Greece Study Abroad application and submit it to Merri Fefles via email at fefles@herosee.net.
  2. Once application is approved, Registration will contact you to complete enrollment in SSC-101-601.
  3. Course tuition and fees are due at the time of registration. Instructions will be provided for paying the study abroad trip fees.

Note: All participants must have a completed Moraine Valley admission application before registering.

  • Belize
    • This trip is a part of BIO-221 (Introduction to Marine Biology) course

Semester Only Programs

Semester programs range from $5,000-$12,000, depending on the geographic location and currency.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financial aid can cover your at-home tuition, which corresponds to your tuition overseas. Any refunds you may receive from financial aid also can be applied toward your study abroad (from the semester before). However, most costs will need to be covered out-of-pocket or via loans.

There are scholarships available to students who are Pell Grant recipients (The Benjamin Gilman Scholarship Award). Plus, the Moraine Valley Community College Foundation offers limited awards.
